The set is mounted upon a single wide maroon watered silk ribbon. The primary jewel is a four-armed cross in gilded metal with a central circular medallion. This medallion features a blue enamel ring inscribed with the motto Nemo Mortalium Omnibus Horis Sapit around a high-relief golden buffalo head with red-set eyes. The arms of the cross are inscribed Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes. Also attached to the ribbon is a circular enamel badge featuring a white ground and blue border with an interlocking RAOB monogram. The assembly is completed by two X-shaped cross-hatched bars with scroll ends, one of which is engraved with the presentation date Dec 20th 41. The set is housed in its original maroon velvet and silk-lined presentation case which bears the printed manufacturer’s mark on the interior of the lid.
