Probate Valuations & Selling at Auction

Turn saleable contents into money off your clearance — with written valuations and our own fortnightly online auctions.

Some homes contain far more value than you’d expect — and that value can reduce, or even cover, the cost of your clearance. We provide probate valuations and sell quality furniture, antiques, jewellery and collectables through our own fortnightly online auctions, returning the proceeds to you.

It’s a big part of how we keep our prices fair and our Zero to Landfill promise real: good items find new owners instead of going to waste.

What’s included

  • A free assessment of the saleable contents
  • Written probate valuations for executors and HMRC
  • Quality items entered into our fortnightly online auctions
  • Sale value offset against your clearance cost
  • Any surplus value paid back to you
  • Honest, transparent figures — no surprises

How it works

During the quote we identify anything worth selling — furniture, antiques, jewellery, collectables, tools and more. We’ll explain what it’s likely to fetch, deduct that from your clearance cost, and pay you any balance after the items sell through our auctions. If you simply want a probate valuation, we can provide that too.

Why choose Clear This Ltd?

With over 30 years’ experience, we’re a family-run, female-led business and a registered Lancashire Trading Standards Safe Trader. We’re fully licensed and insured, ask for no payment upfront, and use plain unmarked vans for complete discretion. Above all, we recycle and re-home as much as we possibly can — our promise of Zero to Landfill is real.

This service works hand in hand with our bereavement & probate clearance and full house clearance services.

Questions

Valuations & Auctions — FAQs

How does the value offset work?

We estimate what your saleable items will fetch at auction and deduct that from the clearance cost. If the contents are worth more than the work, the balance is paid to you once they sell.

Can you provide a valuation for probate?

Yes — we can give a written valuation of the household contents suitable for probate and HMRC purposes.

What kinds of things sell well?

Antiques, quality furniture, jewellery, watches, gold and silver, collectables, tools and many everyday items all find buyers at auction.

When do I get paid?

Any surplus is paid to you after the items have sold through our fortnightly online auctions.
