A circular porcelain bowl decorated in overglaze polychrome enamels and gilding. The interior and exterior surfaces feature alternating shaped reserves in the medallion style. One set of panels depicts figures in traditional Japanese dress situated within landscape settings featuring cherry blossoms and rolling hills. The corresponding panels contain large floral blooms, including peonies and chrysanthemums, rendered in shades of pink and yellow against a gilded ground. These main scenes are separated by wide borders of geometric cracked ice and lattice patterns in iron-red and blue. The remaining white-ground areas are decorated with numerous cranes in flight and small floral sprigs. The underside of the base features a hand-painted mark in red enamel consisting of a character resembling a stylized, broad letter W positioned directly above a single short vertical stroke.
