A seated figure of Budai, the Laughing Buddha, depicted in a traditional cross-legged posture with a large exposed belly and a jovial expression. The piece is constructed from a cast composite material and finished with a textured gold-coloured coating intended to simulate aged gilding. The figure’s robes are decorated with patterns in low relief. Two small circular metallic discs, resembling coins or magnets, are adhered to the chest and belly area. No factory marks, model numbers, or decorator marks are visible on the figure.
